The Bowen Bay house garden was a flourish of flowering trees, shrubs, perennials, and bulbs. Central to this was a fish pond built around the natural bedrock outcropping with pieced stone. Surrounding the garden was a (mostly) deer-proof fence. The flowers that Marjorie painted were from her own garden, as well as from the gardens of her neighbours.
